 Through attending this event, participants will be able to: 


Describe the unique aspects of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in target populations including children, women with heavy menstrual bleeding, and patients post bariatric surgery

Identify opportunities for oral and IV iron replacement with the goal of avoiding red cell transfusion

Explain how a rapid referral anemia clinic could help minimize unnecessary transfusions

Ascertain the challenges and strategies needed to treat IDA using case based scenarios
